What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Byrider Franchise Disclosure Document, the Byrider Software Services and User Agreement does include end-user manuals as part of its Licensed Documentation. The agreement, which is designated as Exhibit D, covers computer software programs related to "buy-here-pay-here" automobile sales and collection management. These programs facilitate the generation of retail installment sales and security contracts, as well as the monitoring of receivables and collection productivity.
The Licensed Software consists of components owned and licensed directly by Byrider (Licensor Software) and components provided by third parties and sublicensed by Byrider (Third Party Software). To assist franchisees in utilizing and understanding the software, Byrider also provides Licensed Documentation, which includes end-user manuals. The server portion of the Licensed Software is hosted by Byrider from its data processing facilities.
This means that as a Byrider franchisee, you will have access to manuals designed to help you understand and use the software effectively. Furthermore, franchisees are permitted to make copies of the Licensed Documentation as necessary for their use of the License System, but these copies must be kept confidential and only made available to employees or agents who are similarly bound to maintain confidentiality. All copies must include Byrider's copyright notice.
