Does the Byrider Software Services and User Agreement allow for translations of the Licensed System?
Byrider Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
Licensor has developed infrastructure standards ("Infrastructure Standards") (as that term is defined and described in Exhibit 1 to this Agreement) that permit approved access to the Licensed System.
The Hosting Facility, the Licensed Software, the Infrastructure Standards and Licensed Documentation, together with any modifications, translations, updates, versions, enhancements or improvements to the software programs and/or documentation provided by Licensor to Licensee are hereinafter referred to as the "Licensed System." Licensor agrees to provide Licensee with one (1) copy of the Licensed Documentation and all updates or revisions to the Licensed Documentation.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Byrider's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Byrider Software Services and User Agreement does not explicitly permit or prohibit franchisees from translating the Licensed System. However, the agreement does state that the definition of the Licensed System includes any modifications, translations, updates, versions, enhancements, or improvements to the software programs and/or documentation provided by Byrider to the franchisee.
The agreement specifies that franchisees are prohibited from making copies of the Licensed Software or Documentation, except as necessary for its use of the Licensed System. Additionally, franchisees must not remove, hide, or disable any of Byrider's copyright notices on the Licensed System. Any unauthorized modification or use of the Licensed System by the franchisee could void the limited warranty provided by Byrider.
Given the lack of explicit permission and the restrictions on modifications and copying, a prospective Byrider franchisee should seek clarification from Byrider regarding whether translations of the Licensed System are permitted and under what conditions. This is important to ensure compliance with the agreement and to avoid potential breaches or voiding the warranty.
