What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Byrider's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Byrider must establish and maintain safeguards against the destruction, loss, damage, or alteration of customer data in its possession. These safeguards must exceed minimum regulatory requirements and be no less rigorous than those Byrider maintains for its own data and software. Byrider is also expected to use reasonable care, following standard commercial practices, to minimize the likelihood of any damage to or loss of customer data.
In addition, Byrider agrees to take commercially reasonable efforts to store, or cause to be stored, in a secure location remote from Byrider, additional copies of all records and Customer Data and any Licensor resources required to provide the Services, and additional tapes or disks necessary to reproduce all such records and Customer Data, as well as source or object code of all software included in the Licensed System on a reasonable periodic basis. However, the backup information will not be entirely current.
For a prospective franchisee, this indicates that Byrider places a high priority on data protection and has implemented measures to ensure the security and integrity of customer information. Franchisees can expect that Byrider will adhere to industry best practices and maintain robust safeguards to prevent data loss or damage. This also means that Byrider takes steps to have backup copies of data in a secure, remote location, although these backups may not be completely up-to-date.
