What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Byrider's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the CNAC compliance checklist is referenced within the context of operational standards and compliance audits. While the FDD mentions the existence of a "CNAC compliance checklist," it does not explicitly detail the checklist's specific purpose or contents.

However, the document does state that Byrider may perform compliance audits to review the operations of the franchisee's business, including adherence to Byrider, CNAC, and service center operational standards. These audits cover areas such as legal and regulatory compliance and marketing efforts.

Failing a compliance audit, defined as scoring less than 80%, can result in penalties for the Byrider franchisee. These penalties start at $500.00 plus reimbursement of travel, food, and lodging for a second consecutive audit and can escalate to $2,500.00 for a second failed audit and $10,000.00 for a third, potentially leading to termination of the franchise agreement. Therefore, the CNAC compliance checklist likely serves as a tool for Byrider franchisees to ensure they meet the operational standards required by Byrider and CNAC, helping them to avoid failing a compliance audit and incurring penalties.

To fully understand the purpose and contents of the CNAC compliance checklist, prospective franchisees should ask Byrider for a copy of the checklist and a detailed explanation of how it is used in the compliance audit process.
