What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Byrider Franchise Disclosure Document, the Licensed Software is used for "buy-here-pay-here" automobile sales and collection management systems. Specifically, the software allows for the generation of retail installment sales and security contracts from input data. It also enables the monitoring of receivables and collection productivity for the franchisee.

This means that Byrider franchisees will use the Licensed Software to manage critical aspects of their business, including creating sales contracts and tracking financial performance. The software is a key component of the Byrider system, and franchisees are required to license and use it to operate their day-to-day business. The technology system also includes off-the-shelf software, hardware, Software as a Service (SaaS) platforms from third-party providers, public cloud-based platforms, and a dealer management system with integrated mandatory Customer Relations Management provided at no additional cost to Franchisee.

Byrider retains ownership of the Licensed Software and can make improvements or develop new systems. Franchisees must notify Byrider of any potential infringement of the software. Upon termination of the franchise agreement, franchisees must immediately cease all use of the Licensed System. The server portion of the Licensed Software will be hosted by Byrider from Byrider's data processing facilities.

Prospective franchisees should understand that the Licensed Software is integral to the Byrider business model. They will be required to pay technology system fees and adhere to the Byrider Software Services and User Agreement. While Byrider may allow substitutions for some hardware items, franchisees are generally expected to use the specified technology system. The company also provides Customer Relations Management to assist with Agency and Direct Consumer Complaints.
