What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Byrider's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Licensed Software enables franchisees to generate specific retail installment sales and security contracts using input data. It also allows franchisees to monitor receivables and collection productivity within their automobile sales business. This is a core function, as Byrider specializes in "buy-here-pay-here" auto sales. The software is part of the broader Licensed System, which includes hosting facilities, infrastructure standards, and documentation.
Byrider provides franchisees with access to the Licensed System for data processing and other services related to the "buy-here-pay-here" model. This access allows franchisees to generate the necessary contracts and track their financial performance. However, Byrider retains the right to suspend or limit a franchisee's access to these services if any payments are more than 30 days past due, or as otherwise specified in the Franchise Agreement.
The franchise agreement grants franchisees a nonexclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Licensed System. This license is specifically for obtaining services necessary for the franchisee's automobile sales business, in accordance with the Franchise Agreement. It is the franchisee's responsibility to ensure that the Licensed System meets their individual requirements and goals.
