What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Byrider's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee has the right to obtain three additional, successive franchise terms of five years each. However, if Byrider Franchising Partners is still in the business of licensing new franchises, the franchisee has the right to obtain unlimited successive franchises of five-years each, as long as they continue to meet the qualifications and conditions for each renewal term.
This means that a Byrider franchisee, who meets the requirements, can extend their franchise agreement for multiple five-year terms. The initial franchise term is seven years, and this can be extended by three additional five-year terms, for a total of 22 years. If Byrider continues to license new franchises, the franchisee can continue to renew for additional five-year terms, provided they meet the renewal requirements.
To renew the franchise agreement, the franchisee must request to obtain a successive franchise term, comply with the Franchise Agreement, and fulfill their financial obligations to Byrider Franchising Partners. Additionally, the franchisee must sign Byrider's then-current franchise agreement for a five-year successor franchise term, which could contain materially different terms, including fees. This is a fairly standard renewal term length in the franchise industry.
