What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Byrider's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a franchisee proposes to purchase or lease any sign or decorating materials not already approved by Byrider Franchising Partners, the franchisee must first notify Byrider. Byrider Franchising Partners may then require the franchisee to submit sufficient specifications, photographs, drawings, and/or other information and samples. This allows Byrider to determine whether the unapproved sign or decorating materials meet their standards and specifications.
Byrider Franchising Partners is entitled to actual costs it incurs to carry out these determinations, including costs of analysis and testing. This means a franchisee might have to cover the expenses Byrider incurs while evaluating the proposed materials. Byrider Franchising Partners will then advise the franchisee within 30 days of the submission whether the proposed sign or decorating materials meet its specifications.
This process ensures that all Byrider locations maintain a consistent brand image and meet the franchisor's standards. While franchisees have the flexibility to source their own signs and decorating materials, they must adhere to Byrider's approval process. This protects the brand's uniformity and reputation, which is a common practice in franchising.
