What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Byrider Franchise Disclosure Document, while not explicitly mandated for every employee, Byrider expects franchisees to ensure all employees are trained in accordance with their recommended training content and operational standards. The franchisee may be subject to training practices review and progress audits as part of Byrider's corporate compliance processes.

The FDD specifies that each franchisee must designate a manager who will devote their full-time efforts to the business's day-to-day operations; this Designated Manager must attend and successfully complete Byrider's Initial Training Program at least 14 days before opening. This requirement applies to both the initially hired Designated Manager and any replacement Designated Managers. The Initial Training Program is available without charge for the Designated Manager and up to three additional employees. Byrider may charge a nonrefundable fee of $2,500 for each additional employee attending the Initial Training Program.

Byrider also offers formal classroom training regularly each year, subject to minimum enrollment numbers, and additional training programs may also be offered. These training events are held at Byrider's corporate office in Carmel, Indiana, at selected regional U.S. locations, or through webinars. Online training certification is available via Byrider's corporate learning management system (LMS), accessible through the corporate portal. The FDD includes tables outlining specific training subjects, the hours of classroom and on-the-job training, and the locations where training is conducted. For example, Vehicle Service Operations & Management training is required for the Designated Manager and recommended for other managers, consisting of 16 hours of classroom training at the Carmel, Indiana headquarters or a regional training location selected by Byrider. Similarly, Sales Associate & Sales Management Training and CNAC Training are required for the Designated Manager and recommended for other managers, each involving 16 hours of classroom training at the same locations.
