What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Bw Premier Collection FDD, the Impact Study Fee is non-refundable. Specifically, if an impact study is required, the prospective franchisee is responsible for a non-refundable Impact Study Fee. This fee must be paid via electronic wire transfer before the impact study is conducted, and it is a prerequisite for the application's processing.
This means that if Bw Premier Collection determines that an impact study is necessary due to the location of the proposed hotel, the applicant must pay the Impact Study Fee, and this fee will not be returned, regardless of whether the application is ultimately approved or denied. This is a standard practice in franchising, as the franchisor incurs costs associated with conducting the study.
Prospective franchisees should consider this non-refundable fee as part of their initial investment and due diligence process. It is important to understand the circumstances under which an impact study is required and to assess the likelihood of needing one based on the proposed location. Franchisees may want to inquire about the typical cost of an impact study to factor this potential expense into their financial projections.
