Can Bw Premier Collection change what it considers to be a passing QA assessment rating?
Bw_Premier_Collection Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
You must (i) maintain the Hotel and provide amenities as we determine from time to time consistent with an upscale hotel (for a Premier Hotel) or upper-midscale hotel (for a Signature Hotel); and (ii) maintain a passing BWI quality assurance ("QA") assessment rating. There is no limit on our right to make changes to our standards for an upscale hotel (for a Premier Hotel) or upper-midscale hotel (for a Signature Hotel) or what we consider to be a passing QA assessment rating and you must comply with all changes we adopt.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Bw Premier Collection FDD, Bw Premier Collection has the right to modify its standards for upscale hotels, which includes the QA assessment rating. As a franchisee, you must comply with all changes Bw Premier Collection adopts. This applies to both Premier Hotels and Signature Hotels.
This means that Bw Premier Collection can change what it considers a passing QA assessment rating at any time, and franchisees are obligated to meet the new standards. This condition is important for prospective franchisees to consider, as it introduces an element of uncertainty and the potential need for ongoing investment to maintain compliance.
This flexibility allows Bw Premier Collection to adapt to changing market conditions, customer expectations, and competitive pressures. However, it also places the onus on the franchisee to stay informed about any changes and to implement them effectively to avoid failing a QA assessment, which can lead to penalties or other consequences as outlined in the franchise agreement.
