What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to the 2024 Burros Fries Franchise Disclosure Document, Burros Fries retains the right to modify the System's standards. Specifically, Burros Fries may periodically add to, modify, or change the approved products, supplies, kitchen equipment, vendors, and suppliers used in the operation of a Burros & Fries Business. There is no limit to Burros Fries's right to do so.
This means that as a franchisee, you must promptly accept and implement all such additions, modifications, and changes at your own expense. This includes changes to ingredients, supplies, kitchen equipment, and even approved vendors. While this allows Burros Fries to adapt to market changes and maintain brand consistency, it also places the financial burden of these changes on the franchisee.
This clause is fairly standard in franchising, as franchisors need the flexibility to update their systems. However, it's crucial for a prospective Burros Fries franchisee to understand that these changes can occur at any time and will require them to invest further in their business to stay compliant with the franchisor's evolving standards. Franchisees should inquire about the typical frequency and cost of these changes during their due diligence.
