Can Burros Fries require refresher training programs?

According to Burros Fries's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Burros Fries has the right to mandate that franchisees, or their owners if the franchisee is an entity, and any managers complete refresher training programs during the term of the Franchise Agreement. These programs are to be held at Burros Fries's corporate headquarters. There may be additional costs associated with these refresher training programs.

Burros Fries may also provide access to additional or refresher training programs through telephone, webinars, or video training at no cost to the franchisee. In certain instances, Burros Fries may require franchisees, owners, or general managers to complete additional or refresher training programs to improve the operations of the business. These programs may be conducted via telephone, webinars, video training, or at annual conferences.

If the refresher training is not done via telephone, webinars, or video training, the franchisee will be subject to additional training fees and will be responsible for all costs associated with attending the training program, such as travel, room, and board. Burros Fries may also provide refresher training or additional training through phone, web-based seminars, video, or at locations designated by them, most likely at their headquarters. Refresher or continuing education, other than by phone, webinars, or video, may have a registration charge that will not exceed $300 per person per ½ day. The registration fee for conferences will not exceed $1,000 per person. These fees may increase based on the increase of actual costs incurred by Burros Fries.
