What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Burros Fries's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must operate their businesses in strict accordance with the methods, standards, and specifications prescribed by Burros Fries in the Operations Manual or in writing. This encompasses all aspects of the business, including menu items, recipes, food preparation, cleanliness, operational procedures, advertising, and approved vendors. Franchisees are obligated to use only products, supplies, and kitchen equipment that meet Burros Fries's standards. These standards and specifications may be modified by Burros Fries based on experience or market changes, with updates communicated to all franchisees.
Burros Fries communicates primarily through emails, phone calls, texts, and an intranet system on their website. Franchisees are responsible for staying informed about all information conveyed through these channels and adhering to any standards and specifications outlined. Burros Fries retains the right to modify operational standards through these communications.
All marketing and promotional activities must adhere to Burros Fries's standards. Franchisees must submit any advertising or promotional materials not already approved by Burros Fries for review. Franchisees are responsible for all costs associated with internet promotions and any changes to their web page, which must be done by Burros Fries, its affiliates, or approved vendors. Franchisees must also ensure their employees do not post unauthorized material about Burros Fries or the system on social media.
Burros Fries enforces these requirements through unannounced on-site visits and may also receive reports from other businesses or customers. Franchisees must allow Burros Fries or its agents to remove products or equipment for testing to ensure compliance with standards. Failure to meet these standards can result in additional fees, such as a $1,000 charge for failing a second inspection within a two-year period, and further action, including legal remedies or termination of the Franchise Agreement.
