What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Burros Fries's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisor will notify a franchisee of the acceptance or rejection of a proposed site by email or any other form of written communication. Burros Fries will evaluate each proposed site on a case-by-case basis. This notification will occur within thirty days after Burros Fries receives the franchisee's request.
Before a Burros Fries franchisee can sign a lease or contract to purchase a premises, they must obtain written approval from the franchisor. Additionally, franchisees must not invest any money into a site before receiving written approval. The franchisor states that acceptance of a site does not ensure the franchisee's business will be profitable at the approved location.
If Burros Fries does not approve the initial site, the franchisee will be given a second opportunity to locate a site. However, if Burros Fries does not approve the second site, it has the right to terminate the franchise agreement. Factors that Burros Fries considers for site acceptance include population density, demographics, traffic patterns, convenience, adequate parking, safety, zoning ordinances, neighborhood, and the physical characteristics of the premises, such as size and layout.
