What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to the 2024 Burros Fries Franchise Disclosure Document, the initial 52-day training program is provided without charge for a total of three people. This includes the franchisee, the manager, and a key personnel member. This training typically occurs no earlier than 60 days before the franchisee anticipates opening their Burros Fries business.

While Burros Fries covers the cost of the training program itself for these three individuals, the franchisee is responsible for covering all travel, accommodation, food, and other related expenses for all attendees. This is a fairly standard practice in franchising, where the franchisor provides the training curriculum and expertise, while the franchisee bears the logistical costs of attending the training.

It's important to note that if any of the initially designated individuals fail to complete the training program satisfactorily, Burros Fries allows the franchisee to appoint a replacement. However, the franchisee will bear the expense of training any replacement personnel. Additionally, for franchisees acquiring a second or subsequent Burros Fries franchise, the franchisor is not obligated to provide additional training.

Burros Fries may also require franchisees, their owners, general managers, or lead chefs to undergo additional or advanced training periodically. For such training, the franchisee may be required to pay a fee of up to $300 per person per half-day, in addition to covering travel, food, accommodations, and other related expenses. The franchisor states they will attempt to use distance learning techniques where possible to minimize these costs.
