What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to the 2024 Burros Fries Franchise Disclosure Document, if a franchisee requests an inspection in writing, Burros Fries has three months to perform the inspection. This timeframe begins from the date Burros Fries receives the franchisee's written request. The franchisee is responsible for covering the costs associated with any inspections they request.

This policy ensures that franchisees can proactively seek evaluations of their business operations, but it also places the financial burden of these requested inspections on the franchisee. This differs from inspections initiated by Burros Fries, which are conducted at the company's expense. However, if a franchisee fails two inspections within a two-year period, they may be charged a fee of $1,000.

The three-month window provides Burros Fries with sufficient time to schedule and conduct the inspection, while also setting a reasonable expectation for the franchisee. Franchisees should factor in these potential inspection costs when budgeting and consider the benefits of identifying and addressing operational issues through voluntary inspections.

It's important for prospective franchisees to understand the circumstances under which they might request an inspection and to weigh the costs against the potential benefits of identifying areas for improvement in their Burros Fries business.
