What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to the 2024 Burros Fries Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to use approved technology items, which includes sound systems. Burros Fries emphasizes that franchisees must use only approved products, supplies, kitchen equipment, vendors, suppliers, and services.

This requirement extends to various aspects of the business, including ingredients, supplies, merchandise, kitchen equipment, furnishings, fixtures, and technology items like computers, POS systems, and sound systems. This means a franchisee cannot independently choose a sound system; it must be one that Burros Fries has approved.

Burros Fries reserves the right to add, modify, or change the approved products, supplies, kitchen equipment, vendors, and suppliers. Franchisees are obligated to promptly implement these changes at their own expense. This ensures uniformity and quality control across all franchised locations, but it also limits the franchisee's autonomy in selecting their own equipment and potentially increases their costs if they must switch to a newly approved system.

The FDD states that Burros Fries has spent considerable time designing the decoration and outfitting of a Burros & Fries Business with specific kitchen equipment, furnishing, fixtures, décor items and signage. This is part of their trade dress, and franchisees must adhere to these standards to maintain brand consistency.
