What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to the 2024 Burros Fries Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee is responsible for using only approved technology items, such as computers, POS systems, and sound systems. These items must be obtained from vendors and suppliers approved by Burros Fries.
The franchisee is obligated to promptly implement any additions, modifications, or changes to these approved technology items at their own expense. This suggests that if a technology item breaks or needs an update, the franchisee must handle the repair or replacement using approved vendors and bear the associated costs.
This requirement ensures uniformity and quality control across all Burros Fries locations, as the franchisor maintains the right to dictate which technology and vendors are used. While this limits the franchisee's autonomy in choosing equipment, it also means they benefit from the franchisor's expertise in selecting reliable and compatible systems. Franchisees should clarify with Burros Fries what support is offered for technology issues and what the typical costs are for maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
