What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to the 2024 Burros Fries Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to use a specific point of sale (POS) system and software from Burros Fries' approved vendors. The FDD states that the use of the software for the POS system may require the franchisee to sign a license agreement.
The overall cost for technology items, including the POS system, ranges from $5,000 to $10,000. Additionally, franchisees must pay a POS support fee of $130 to $140 per month per cash register to Burros Fries' approved vendors.
It is the franchisee's responsibility to install, maintain, and upgrade any necessary hardware and software for the POS system at their own expense. Burros Fries retains the right to change the software requirements and approved vendors, providing franchisees with 90 days' written notice to implement such changes. This means a Burros Fries franchisee should be prepared to sign a license agreement for the POS software and to handle the costs of maintaining and updating the system.
