What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Burros Fries's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee, all owners, the general manager, and all employees who prepare, serve, or handle food must have a valid food handler's certification. These certifications must be renewed as applicable.
The FDD defines a food handler's certification as food handling and safety training necessary for operating the Burros Fries business. The training courses can be taken in a classroom setting or, in some states, completed over the Internet. The franchisee is responsible for ensuring that all mentioned parties obtain and maintain this certification.
This requirement ensures that Burros Fries maintains food safety standards across all franchise locations. It also ensures compliance with health regulations, which is a common practice in the food service industry. The franchisee bears the responsibility for all employment decisions, including training, and must ensure that all staff members who handle food are properly certified.
