Answer from 2024 FDD Document

In operating your Franchise, you must adhere to our signage standards, and utilize signage designs (including on any vehicle if Franchisee chooses to use a vehicle to advertise the Business) in accordance with our standards and specifications or required by us. Franchisee may use an approved supplier for signage, or submit an alternate supplier to us for approval. Franchisee shall purchase or lease, subject to local building codes and regulations, such signs that provide maximum displays of our Names and Marks. Franchisee shall be totally responsible for obtaining and equipping its Business with the signage that is approved for use by us from time to time. The color, size, design and location of said signs shall be as specified and/or approved by us. Franchisee shall not place additional signs, posters or newspaper racks in addition to unapproved video, vending or gaming machines and/or other similar devices and décor items in the Business without our prior written consent.

What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Burros Fries's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees may use an approved supplier for signage or submit an alternate supplier for approval. Franchisees must adhere to Burros Fries's signage standards and utilize signage designs in accordance with their specifications.

Franchisees are responsible for purchasing or leasing signs that provide maximum displays of Burros Fries's Names and Marks, subject to local building codes and regulations. The color, size, design, and location of the signs must be as specified or approved by Burros Fries. Franchisees cannot place additional signs, posters, or newspaper racks, including unapproved video, vending, or gaming machines, or other similar devices and décor items in the Business without prior written consent from Burros Fries.

This means that while franchisees have the option to propose alternate signage suppliers, Burros Fries retains control over the brand's image by setting standards for signage design, size, color, and placement. The approval process ensures that all signage aligns with the brand's identity and trade dress. Franchisees should factor in the time required for supplier approval and the potential costs of adhering to the franchisor's specific signage requirements.
