What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Burros Fries's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, several factors are considered during site selection. These include population density, demographics, traffic patterns, convenience, adequate parking, safety, zoning ordinances, neighborhood, and the physical characteristics of the premises, such as size and layout. Burros Fries evaluates each proposed site on a case-by-case basis.
Prospective franchisees must locate, obtain, and occupy a site within their protected territory at their own expense. Franchisees must not sign a lease or invest any money in a site before receiving written approval from Burros Fries. If the initial site is not approved, franchisees are given a second opportunity to find a suitable location. Failure to secure approval after the second attempt may result in the termination of the franchise agreement.
Burros Fries provides written guidelines for site selection, but franchisees are responsible for finding and securing the location. The approval process includes submitting a location plan and other required information to Burros Fries, who then have 30 days to approve or disapprove the proposed site. This approval, however, does not guarantee the profitability or success of the Burros Fries business at that location, as it only indicates that the site meets the minimum criteria based on Burros Fries's general business experience.
