What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Burros Fries's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the criteria used to determine if a franchisee (or their manager) is qualified to manage the business include, but are not limited to, a lack of business experience, a personality that makes it difficult to service guests, or the absence of appropriate licenses or permits to operate the franchise. If Burros Fries determines that the franchisee or manager is not qualified during the training program, they will notify the franchisee, who then has the option to appoint a substitute manager for training at their own expense.

If the substitute manager also fails to complete the training program satisfactorily, Burros Fries reserves the right to terminate the Franchise Agreement. Burros Fries will provide a written termination notice if they determine the franchisee or manager is not qualified. This ensures that all Burros Fries locations are managed by individuals deemed competent by the franchisor, maintaining brand standards and customer service quality.

In addition to the criteria mentioned above, it is required that the franchisee (or their managing partner, member, or shareholder), their manager, and all employees successfully obtain a food handlers certification in their home state. This certification demonstrates that they have received the necessary food handling and safety training required for operating the Burros Fries business. The food handler certification can be obtained through classroom settings or, in some states, online courses.
