What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Burros Fries's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a franchisee requests an inspection of their Business, the franchisee will bear the cost of the inspection. Burros Fries typically monitors the operation of the Business and inspects inventory, products, supplies, and kitchen equipment at their own cost. However, if the franchisee wants an inspection performed when Burros Fries has not inspected the Business in the past twelve months, the franchisee must notify Burros Fries in writing, and Burros Fries will perform the inspection within three months of the request, with the cost of the inspection being the franchisee's responsibility.
This means that unlike regular inspections conducted by Burros Fries, which are at the franchisor's expense, any inspection specifically requested by the franchisee will be an out-of-pocket expense for the franchisee. The FDD does not specify the exact amount that the franchisee will be expected to pay for the inspection.
As a prospective franchisee, it would be prudent to inquire with Burros Fries about the estimated cost of a requested inspection to better understand the potential financial implications. Understanding the factors that influence the cost, such as travel expenses for the inspector, would also be beneficial for financial planning.
