What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Burros Fries' 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, if the franchisor develops proprietary software, franchisees must use the approved software on a computer/POS system that meets the franchisor's hardware specifications. This computer must be located at the Burros Fries business location or on a backup system if the original computer is not working.

The franchisee is only licensed to use the software for internal data processing and communication purposes related to their Burros Fries business. They cannot re-market or redistribute the software under any circumstances. The cost for the technology items, such as computers, POS systems, tablets, software, copiers, scanners, printers, modems, routers, sound systems, surveillance systems, and telephones, ranges from $5,000 to $10,000.

Burros Fries may change the software requirements, including approved vendors, at any time, providing franchisees with 90 days' written notice to implement such changes. Franchisees are responsible for complying with these technology requirement changes at their own expense. Failure to comply with the technology requirements within the given timeframe may be considered a material breach of the franchise agreement.
