What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to the 2024 Burros Fries Franchise Disclosure Document, the company asserts copyright protection over several elements of its franchise system. These include the Operations Manual, any Software developed for the system, the Products and their specifications, recipes, signage, the website, and all promotional and marketing materials. This extends to photographs of food, marketing and operations literature.
This copyright protection extends to all forms of media, whether currently known or developed in the future. It encompasses all methods and processes, including rights to interactive and derivative works. This means a Burros Fries franchisee must adhere strictly to the franchisor's guidelines and standards for these items.
For a prospective franchisee, this signifies that they cannot independently alter or reproduce these copyrighted materials without explicit permission from Burros Fries. Unauthorized use or modification could lead to legal repercussions, as the franchisor retains ownership and control over these creative and operational assets. Franchisees should ensure they fully understand the scope of these protections and adhere to the franchisor's guidelines to avoid potential conflicts.
