What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Burneys Sweets More's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, initial training is offered after signing the Franchise Agreement but before opening the business. Burneys Sweets More plans to conduct the training program on an as-needed basis. The initial training is held at their Elizabethtown, North Carolina location and generally lasts for one week.
Burneys Sweets More requires the franchisee (or a principal of the corporate entity) to attend initial training. If Burneys Sweets More approves the shop to operate with an Operations Manager, then the Operations Manager and at least one other manager must successfully complete the training program, unless Burneys Sweets More waives this requirement. The franchisee or principal, and the Operations Manager if applicable, must complete the training program to Burneys Sweets More's satisfaction before they will authorize the shop to open.
Burneys Sweets More may also offer additional training as they see fit or as the franchisee requests. While most additional training is optional, franchisees may be required to attend. If attendance is required for additional training, no tuition fee will be charged, but the franchisee is responsible for all transportation, lodging, food, and other costs incurred in attending the training.
