According to Burneys Sweets More's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to maintain their premises to the highest degree of cleanliness, orderliness, and repair. This standard applies to all aspects of the premises, including fixtures, furnishings, equipment, materials, and supplies. The determination of what constitutes the "highest degree" is made by Burneys Sweets More itself.

Burneys Sweets More retains the right to inspect the premises at any time, with or without notice, to ensure compliance with these standards. These inspections can be conducted in person or remotely using communication technology. Franchisees are expected to cooperate with Burneys Sweets More representatives during inspections and take immediate steps to correct any deficiencies identified. This includes addressing construction issues, replacing substandard equipment or materials, and discontinuing the use of any items that do not meet Burneys Sweets More's current standards.

In addition to general maintenance, Burneys Sweets More also reserves the right to require franchisees to refurbish or remodel their locations to maintain a consistent brand image. These renovations can include structural changes, new equipment, redecoration, and modifications to existing improvements. While Burneys Sweets More has discretion over these requirements, they cannot mandate remodeling expenses exceeding $30,000 during the first two years of the franchise term, unless it is necessary for menu item production. Failure to maintain the premises to Burneys Sweets More's standards can result in the franchisor taking corrective action at the franchisee's expense.
