We plan to conduct the training program on an as-needed basis. Initial training is conducted at our Elizabethtown, North Carolina location, and it generally spans a one-week period. You or a principal, and, if applicable, your Operations Manager, must complete the training program to our satisfaction before we will authorize you to open your Shop. We may in the future designate your Shop as an approved training facility for other franchisees. If so, you will be compensated at our then current reimbursement rate for any training you provide to new franchisees at our specific request in your capacity as a training facility.
If you buy the franchise from us, your initial franchise fee includes the cost of initial training for up to 2 persons pre-opening. You bear all indirect training costs and expenses, such as salary expenses of your employees and all expenses of travel, lodging, meals, and other living expenses you and your designees incur.

According to Burneys Sweets More's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, initial training is conducted at their Elizabethtown, North Carolina location and generally spans a one-week period. This initial training is mandatory for the franchisee or a principal of the corporate entity, and if the shop operates with an Operations Manager, they must also complete the training, along with another manager, unless this requirement is waived. Burneys Sweets More plans to conduct the initial training program on an as-needed basis. The initial franchise fee covers the cost of initial training for up to two persons before opening.
Burneys Sweets More may also offer additional training as they see fit or as requested by the franchisee. Franchisees will be charged $250 per day per trainer for this additional training, payable at the time of training unless alternative billing arrangements are agreed upon. While most additional training is optional, franchisees may be required to attend, in which case no tuition fee will be charged, but the franchisee is responsible for all transportation, lodging, food, and other costs.
Burneys Sweets More may also offer conferences and other training courses related to the industry and the franchisee's shop from time to time, although they are not required to do so. Franchisees are required to attend all conferences and other required training courses, which may be conducted by Burneys Sweets More employees or other trainers. Burneys Sweets More has the right to charge a tuition fee for each attendee, and attendees are responsible for all transportation, lodging, food, and other costs. If a franchisee does not attend a scheduled required event, they will be charged 1% of their annual revenue for the balance of the calendar year.
