What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Burneys Sweets More FDD, franchisees must adhere to specific guidelines regarding advertising and signage. While the FDD does not explicitly state where a franchisee MUST purchase advertising signs, it does state that franchisees cannot display any signs or advertising that Burneys Sweets More objects to. Burneys Sweets More also reserves the right to require franchisees to refurbish their business to conform to current brand standards, which may include replacing worn or outdated signs.
Supplemental advertising materials, beyond basic directory listings, must be either prepared by Burneys Sweets More or approved by them. Franchisees are required to list their business in directories designated by Burneys Sweets More, with all advertising content beyond basic listings subject to franchisor approval. This ensures brand consistency and quality control across all franchise locations.
Upon termination of the franchise agreement, franchisees must cease using all Burneys Sweets More marks and return or destroy all signs and advertising materials displaying those marks. This obligation underscores the importance of adhering to Burneys Sweets More's standards and guidelines throughout the duration of the franchise agreement. Prospective franchisees should clarify with Burneys Sweets More the approved vendors or processes for obtaining compliant advertising signs to avoid potential conflicts or non-compliance issues.
