What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Burger King's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to pay a Digital App License Fee. This fee is $0.30 per digital transaction and is associated with the use of Burger King's technology platforms for ordering, delivery, and loyalty programs via the Burger King mobile app or website.
The Digital App License Fee is payable on the 10th day of each month, covering digital transactions from the previous month. This fee is in addition to any other recurring fees, royalties, or advertising contributions that the franchisee is obligated to pay. Franchisees cannot deduct this fee from their Gross Sales calculations.
Burger King retains the right to adjust the Digital App License Fee once per year, starting after May 1, 2023, to reflect the costs and expenses of providing and expanding the technology platforms. The Digital App Services Agreement, which outlines the terms of the license, is included as Exhibit V in the Franchise Disclosure Document. All amounts are payable via a direct monthly withdrawal from your bank account or through an electronic payment method.
