What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Burger King's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must pay a Digital App License Fee for access to technology platforms that enable ordering, delivery, and loyalty program services via the Burger King mobile app or website. This fee applies to digital transactions occurring through these platforms, including orders, redemption of digital offers, and loyalty point accumulation.
The Digital App License Fee is $0.30 per digital transaction. Franchisees are required to pay this fee on the 10th day of each month for the transactions that occurred in the prior month.
Burger King retains the right to adjust this fee once per year, starting after May 1, 2023, to cover the costs of providing and expanding these technology platforms. It is important to note that franchisees cannot deduct the Digital App License Fees from their Gross Sales calculations, and these fees are in addition to any other recurring fees, royalties, or advertising contributions.
