What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Burger King's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, after a franchisee completes a Midterm Remodel project at a Burger King restaurant, they must notify BKC (Burger King Corporation) of the completion. This notification must be sent via email to BKC's construction manager or development lead responsible for the specific restaurant where the remodel took place. Simultaneously, the franchisee must send the same notice to the addresses for BKC as specified in Section 10(g) of the agreement.
The notification must specify the restaurant by its BK# (Burger King number) and location. It is crucial that BKC receives this notification within ten (10) days of the Midterm Remodel project's conclusion. Following this notification, Burger King and the franchisee will schedule a final walk-through inspection of the restaurant. This inspection aims to verify whether the remodel aligns with the requirements outlined in the Forbearance Agreement.
Burger King retains sole and absolute discretion in verifying the completion of the Midterm Remodel according to the Forbearance Agreement. They also have the sole and absolute discretion to determine the method and scope of the final walk-through inspection. This process ensures that the remodeled restaurant meets Burger King's standards and requirements, and it is a critical step for the franchisee to demonstrate compliance with the franchise agreement.
