All data that you provide, that we download from your system, and that we otherwise collect from you is owned exclusively by us, and we will have the right to use that data in any way that we deem appropriate without compensating you.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Buns On Fire Franchise Disclosure Document, Buns On Fire exclusively owns all data that franchisees provide, that Buns On Fire downloads from their systems, and that Buns On Fire otherwise collects. Buns On Fire has the right to use this data in any way it deems appropriate without compensating the franchisee.
This includes the right to retrieve any data and information from the franchisee's computers as Buns On Fire deems appropriate, including electronically polling daily information and other data of the Franchise Business. The franchisee's system must interface with the system that Buns On Fire maintains at its offices, giving Buns On Fire access to the franchisee's registers to determine daily receipts. There are no contractual limitations on Buns On Fire's independent access to the information and data stored on the required cash register/computer system.
This policy gives Buns On Fire broad authority over franchisee data, which is typical in many franchise systems. Prospective franchisees should consider the implications of this data ownership, including how Buns On Fire might use the data for marketing, operational improvements, or other purposes. Franchisees are required to maintain a Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliant security service subscription to protect customer credit card information, and Buns On Fire will designate the PCI compliant vendor that franchisees must use.
