Is a Buns On Fire franchisee obligated to adhere to any price recommendations from the franchisor?
Buns_On_Fire Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
Franchisee's submission of advertising for approval does not affect his/her right to determine the prices at which Franchisee sells his/her services or products. Franchisee must include in any significant display advertisements, and in marketing materials for the Franchised Business, in conformance with standards in the Confidential Operations Manual, a notice that the Franchised Business is individually owned and operated.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Buns On Fire Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees have the right to determine the prices at which they sell their products or services. However, Buns On Fire franchisees must still adhere to other requirements, such as submitting advertising materials to the franchisor for approval, ensuring that all materials containing the Marks include the appropriate trademark designations, and including a notice in significant display advertisements and marketing materials that the Franchised Business is individually owned and operated.
This means that while Buns On Fire cannot dictate specific pricing, they maintain control over brand representation and marketing. This is a common practice in franchising, allowing franchisees some autonomy in pricing to respond to local market conditions while ensuring brand consistency and quality control through marketing and operational standards.
It is important for prospective Buns On Fire franchisees to understand the balance between pricing freedom and adherence to brand standards. While franchisees can set their own prices, they must still comply with the franchisor's requirements for advertising, marketing, and overall brand image. This ensures that the Buns On Fire brand maintains a consistent identity and quality across all locations, while still allowing franchisees to adapt to local market conditions.
