What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bumble Roofing's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the company will waive the franchise transfer fee if the franchise is transferred to a member of the franchisee's immediate family, specifically a spouse or child.
This waiver can be a significant benefit for franchisees who wish to pass their business on to their family members. The standard transfer fee is the greater of 20% of the then-current franchise fee or $10,000, so this waiver could represent a substantial cost savings.
However, it is important to note that this is the only condition under which Bumble Roofing explicitly states they will waive the transfer fee. If the franchisee sells to any other party, even another relative such as a sibling or parent, the transfer fee will apply. Additionally, if the franchisee engages a broker or franchise sales organization to assist with the sale, they will be responsible for any commission or fees charged by that organization before Bumble Roofing approves the transfer.
