What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bumble Roofing's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisor will waive the transfer fee if the franchise is transferred to a member of the franchisee's immediate family, defined as a spouse or child.
Otherwise, a Bumble Roofing franchisee who wishes to transfer their franchise must pay a transfer fee to Bumble Roofing. This fee is the greater of 20% of the then-current initial franchise fee or $10,000. Half of this transfer fee is due when the franchisee requests the transfer, and this portion is non-refundable, regardless of whether the transfer is completed. The remaining balance of the transfer fee is due at the closing of the transfer.
In addition to the transfer fee, the franchisee must execute a general release of Bumble Roofing, including its current and former officers, directors, agents, employees, and affiliates, from obligations under the franchise agreement. The transferee must purchase all of the franchisee's assets used in the business and assume all liabilities, including future warranty claims, unless these liabilities are paid before the sale or the sale involves shares of the franchisee's capital stock or membership interest. The transferee must also meet Bumble Roofing's criteria for franchisees and complete the current training program, unless they are a current franchisee in good standing or have been a Designated Business Manager for at least one year for a business in good standing.
