Answer from 2025 FDD Document

Franchisee must obtain all business licenses and permits required by federal, state and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.

If Franchisee does not qualify for those business licenses and permits required by state and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations, before operating its Business, Franchisee must either: (i) obtain the ability to work under Franchisee's employee's or minority owner's license and/or permits; or (ii) at Franchisor's option, work under Franchisor's or its designee's license and/or permits.

If Franchisee does not obtain all required permits and licenses necessary to operate it Business within 6 months after meeting the experience qualifications to obtain such permit or license, Franchisor may terminate this Franchise Agreement.

During any time that Franchisee works under Franchisor's or its designee's license and/or permit, it must: (I) pay Franchisor the then-current monthly license fee; and (II) use a third-party professional services organization that will be responsible for handling Franchisee's payroll and to assist Franchisee with its obligation to comply with various applicable state employment laws.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Bumble Roofing Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are generally required to operate their businesses in full compliance with all applicable laws, ordinances, and regulations, including consumer protection and labor/employment laws.

However, there is an exception related to business licenses and permits. If a franchisee does not initially qualify for the necessary licenses and permits, they have two options: either work under the license/permits of a qualified employee or minority owner, or, at Bumble Roofing's option, operate under Bumble Roofing's or its designee's license and/or permits.

If the franchisee operates under Bumble Roofing's license, they must pay a monthly license fee and use a third-party professional services organization to handle payroll and ensure compliance with state employment laws. If a franchisee fails to obtain the required permits and licenses within six months of meeting the experience qualifications, Bumble Roofing has the right to terminate the Franchise Agreement.
