Answer from 2025 FDD Document

If we believe you lack sufficient business experience, you must designate a Designated Business Manager to act as the operating manager for your Roofing Business. We must approve the selection of the Designated Business Manager before signing the Franchise Agreement. The Designated Business Manager must attend and successfully complete the initial training program, and must abide by the obligations in the Franchise Agreement and the Operating Manual. The Designated Business Manager must agree to the same confidentiality and non-competition obligations that you are required to abide by (see Attachment A to the Franchise Agreement).

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bumble Roofing's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Designated Business Manager must agree to the same confidentiality and non-competition obligations as the franchisee. This requirement is in place to protect Bumble Roofing's confidential information and maintain a competitive advantage. The specifics of these obligations are detailed in Attachment A to the Franchise Agreement, which is not included in the provided documentation.

Bumble Roofing considers information such as financial data, methods, manuals, standards, designs, trademark usage, copyrights, sources and specifications, electronic communications, internet usage, marketing programs, and research and development as proprietary and confidential. Some of this information is also classified as trade secrets, including the formulas for the products that carry the Bumble Roofing name. The franchisee is required to maintain the confidentiality of this information and implement procedures to prevent unauthorized disclosure.

The Designated Business Manager's agreement to these obligations is crucial, especially considering their direct involvement in the daily operations of the Bumble Roofing business. This ensures that someone with sufficient business experience is managing the franchise and is legally bound to protect Bumble Roofing's interests. A prospective franchisee should carefully review Attachment A to fully understand the scope and implications of these confidentiality and non-competition obligations for their Designated Business Manager.
