For Bumble Roofing, when must the selection of the Designated Business Manager be approved?

Bumble_Roofing Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

If we believe you lack sufficient business experience, you must designate a Designated Business Manager to act as the operating manager for your Roofing Business. We must approve the selection of the Designated Business Manager before signing the Franchise Agreement. The Designated Business Manager must attend and successfully complete the initial training program, and must abide by the obligations in the Franchise Agreement and the Operating Manual. The Designated Business Manager must agree to the same confidentiality and non-competition obligations that you are required to abide by (see Attachment A to the Franchise Agreement).

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bumble Roofing's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if the franchisee is deemed to lack sufficient business experience, Bumble Roofing must approve the selection of the Designated Business Manager before the Franchise Agreement is signed.

This stipulation ensures that franchisees who may not have extensive business backgrounds have a qualified manager in place from the outset. The Designated Business Manager is required to attend and successfully complete the initial training program and must adhere to the obligations outlined in both the Franchise Agreement and the Operating Manual. Furthermore, the Designated Business Manager must agree to the same confidentiality and non-competition obligations as the franchisee.

This requirement protects Bumble Roofing's interests by ensuring that the Designated Business Manager is well-trained and committed to the brand's standards. For a prospective franchisee, this means that if Bumble Roofing believes they lack sufficient experience, they will need to identify a suitable Designated Business Manager and secure Bumble Roofing's approval before finalizing the franchise agreement. This could involve a review of the manager's qualifications and experience by Bumble Roofing.
