What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bumble Roofing's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to purchase specific items directly from the company. These include the vehicle graphics package, ladders, roofing samples, and various tools and equipment. Additionally, franchisees must use Bumble Roofing's bookkeeping service for a fee and purchase QuickBooks Online through them.
Bumble Roofing maintains the right to designate themselves or an affiliate as the sole approved supplier for any additional required items at any time. This means that while franchisees may have some flexibility in sourcing certain goods and services initially, Bumble Roofing could later mandate purchases from specific sources. Franchisees are obligated to adhere to the standards and specifications outlined in the confidential operations manual, which includes details on required services, products, equipment, tools, office supplies, vehicles, uniforms, inventory, forms, advertising materials, computer hardware and software, accounting systems, and bookkeeping services.
Bumble Roofing estimates that purchases required by them will constitute 50% to 60% of the total goods and services needed to establish the franchise and the same percentage of ongoing operating expenses. Bumble Roofing also earns revenue from franchisee purchases of required items, with these payments ranging from less than 1% up to 10% or more of the total purchase price. This revenue is retained and used by Bumble Roofing as they deem appropriate or as required by a particular manufacturer, supplier, or distributor.
Prospective franchisees should carefully consider these requirements and their potential impact on their operating costs and profitability. It is important to review the Operations Manual for a comprehensive list of required items and approved suppliers. Franchisees also have the option to request approval for alternative suppliers, although Bumble Roofing reserves the right to charge a fee for evaluating such requests in the future, up to $200 per request, and may require reimbursement for associated costs.
