We have standards and specifications for your Products, Services, equipment, tools, office, vehicle, uniforms, inventory, supplies, forms, advertising materials, computer hardware and software, accounting systems, bookkeeping service, and/or other services and products used in, sold or provided through your Roofing Business ("Required Items"). We will notify you of our specifications and standards. To maintain our standards of consistent, high-quality products, customer recognition, advertising support, value and uniformity in Roofing Business, we may require you to purchase or lease some or all Required Items per our specifications and standards. We also reserve the right to require you to purchase any Required Items only from our designated or approved suppliers. The term "suppliers," also includes vendors, manufacturers and distributors. We have also identified a number of preferred, but not required, suppliers for other Required Items. Except as disclosed in this Item 8, neither we nor an affiliate is currently the only designated or approved supplier of any Required Items. We reserve the right, however, at any time and at our discretion, to designate ourselves or one of our affiliates as the only designated or approved supplier, or one of several designated or approved suppliers, of any additional Required Items.
Except for certain Required Items, we do not require that you purchase any equipment, tools, goods or services from us, our affiliates or any other source we designate. You may purchase these from any supplier, but we reserve the right to designate other required suppliers in the future.
You must lease or buy service trucks that are large and durable enough to accommodate our standard complement of equipment, tools and accessories. While we currently specify the options of make(s) and model(s) of truck you must acquire or lease, we do not specify the source from which you must acquire or lease it provided it meets our specifications. Your truck(s) must be in good working condition and be outfitted with our trade dress so that they will look the same as other franchisees' trucks when emblazoned with the BUMBLE ROOFING® name, logo and decorations. As your Roofing Business grows, you may require additional trucks.
The vehicle graphics package, ladder, roofing samples, and various tools and equipment are Required Items that you must currently purchase from us.
You must purchase and use computer hardware that meets our specifications. We may require that you upgrade or change your computer equipment and software periodically. Additionally, you must pay a monthly Technology Fee for use of our technology platform, software, and electronic communications system. You will be provided an e-mail account that you may use with your Roofing Business.
You are required to use the bookkeeping service provided by us for a fee. You are also required to purchase QuickBooks Online from us.
We may establish approved suppliers and specifications and standards that you must follow. Any required or preferred suppliers are set forth in our Operations Manual.
Approved suppliers and specifications and standards are determined based on the current needs for operating Roofing Businesses. If we have a designated supplier for any product and you want to purchase a product from a supplier that does not appear on our designated supplier list or use a product that is not on our approved-product list, you must first furnish us samples of the product from the supplier, together with as much information as you can gather about the product's composition, properties and intended uses; the results of lab and field tests on its use; the manufacture's location, years in business, quality control standards and warranty policies; and such other information as we request. We may evaluate designated suppliers based on price, service, quality, warranty, delivery terms, and other commercially reasonable benchmarks. Any preferred or required suppliers will be specified in the Operations Manual. We may establish procedures for approving alternative required suppliers you recommend (including alternative suppliers for Required Items) based on the criteria described above. We will notify you within 90 days of your request to evaluate an alternative supplier of our approval or disapproval of that supplier. Currently, we do not charge a fee to evaluate an alternative supplier, but we reserve the right to charge a fee in the future, which will not exceed $200 per request. We reserve the right to require you to reimburse us for our costs and expenses in connection with evaluating the supplier. We may revoke our approval of any supplier with 30 days' prior written notice to you.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bumble Roofing's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, 'Required Items' encompass a range of products, services, and equipment necessary for operating a Bumble Roofing franchise. These include items such as equipment, tools, office space, vehicles, uniforms, inventory, supplies, forms, advertising materials, computer hardware and software, accounting systems, and bookkeeping services. Bumble Roofing specifies standards for these items and will notify franchisees of these specifications.
The FDD specifies that franchisees must lease or buy service trucks that meet Bumble Roofing's size and durability standards to accommodate the standard equipment. While Bumble Roofing specifies the make and model options for the trucks, franchisees can acquire them from any source, provided they meet the specifications. The trucks must be in good working condition and display Bumble Roofing's trade dress, including the name, logo, and decorations. Currently, franchisees must purchase the vehicle graphics package, ladder, roofing samples, and various tools and equipment directly from Bumble Roofing. Franchisees must also purchase and use computer hardware that meets Bumble Roofing's specifications and may be required to upgrade or change their computer equipment and software periodically.
In addition, franchisees are required to use the bookkeeping service provided by Bumble Roofing for a fee and must purchase QuickBooks Online from them. Franchisees are also required to purchase and maintain specific insurance coverage as detailed in the Operations Manual, which may be adjusted periodically. This includes general liability insurance, auto liability insurance, umbrella liability, business personal property insurance, workers compensation insurance, and business interruption insurance, with coverage amounts specified in the FDD. Bumble Roofing estimates that purchases required by them will equal approximately 50% to 60% of all purchases and leases of goods and services to establish the franchise and will total approximately 50% to 60% of a franchisee's ongoing operating expenses.
Bumble Roofing may receive revenue from franchisees' purchases of Required Items, ranging from less than 1% up to 10% or more of the total purchase price. The Operations Manual contains a list of any required or preferred suppliers. If a franchisee wants to use a non-approved supplier or product, they must submit samples and detailed information for Bumble Roofing's evaluation. Bumble Roofing will then notify the franchisee of their decision within 90 days. While there is currently no fee for this evaluation, Bumble Roofing reserves the right to charge up to $200 per request in the future and may also require reimbursement for evaluation costs.
