Answer from 2025 FDD Document

Any required specifications, standards and operating procedures exist to protect Franchisor's interests in the System and the Marks and to create a uniform customer experience, and not for the purpose of establishing any control or duty to take control over those day-to-day operational matters that are reserved to Franchisee.

Franchisee shall operate the Business strictly in accordance with the required specifications and standards identified in the Manual.

Failure to comply with the required standards set forth in the Manual shall constitute a material breach of this Agreement.

Franchisor reserves the right to provide the Manual and updates to the Manual in electronic form or other form determined by Franchisor.

Franchisor shall have the right to modify the Manual from time to time to reflect changes in authorized Products and Services, business image or the operation of the Business.

Some of the revisions to the Manual may include changes with respect to: (i) sales and marketing strategies; (ii) equipment and supplies; (iii) accounting and reporting systems and forms; (iv) insurance requirements; (v) operating procedures; (vi) required technology; (vii) Services; and (viii) Products.

  • (i) Franchisee covenants to accept, implement and adopt any such modifications at its own cost, except as provided in Section 8.5 of this Agreement.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Bumble Roofing Franchise Disclosure Document, the required specifications, standards, and operating procedures outlined in the Bumble Roofing Manual serve a dual purpose. Primarily, they are designed to protect Bumble Roofing's interests in its System and Marks. This includes safeguarding the brand's reputation, ensuring consistent quality, and maintaining uniformity across all franchise locations. By adhering to these guidelines, franchisees contribute to the overall strength and recognition of the Bumble Roofing brand.

Secondly, these standards aim to create a uniform customer experience. This means that customers can expect a consistent level of service and quality regardless of the specific Bumble Roofing franchise they interact with. This consistency is crucial for building customer trust and loyalty, which ultimately benefits both the franchisor and the franchisees. The FDD emphasizes that franchisees must operate their businesses strictly in accordance with the required specifications and standards detailed in the manual, and failure to do so constitutes a material breach of the Franchise Agreement.

It's important to note that while Bumble Roofing sets these standards, the FDD clarifies that they are not intended to control the day-to-day operational matters that are reserved for the franchisee. This suggests that franchisees have a degree of autonomy in managing their business, as long as they adhere to the established standards. Bumble Roofing also retains the right to modify the manual periodically to reflect changes in authorized products and services, business image, or operations, and franchisees are generally expected to implement these modifications at their own cost.
