What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bumble Roofing's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must maintain insurance coverage from the commencement of the Initial Term of the franchise agreement and throughout the Initial Term, as well as any Interim Period. The Initial Term for a Bumble Roofing franchise is seven years, but can be extended if certain conditions are met. An Interim Period refers to the time when the franchisee continues to operate the business after the Initial Term but before a Successor Franchise Agreement is executed.
Bumble Roofing requires franchisees to purchase and maintain these insurance policies in full force and effect. The policies must be issued by insurance companies acceptable to Bumble Roofing, and the amounts and terms of the policies must adhere to the specifications outlined in the FDD or the Bumble Roofing Manual.
Franchisees must also ensure that Bumble Roofing and its parent company, Empower Brands, LLC, along with their affiliates and any other parties designated by Bumble Roofing, are named as additional insureds on all insurance policies. The insurance coverage for these additional insureds should not be limited to claims of vicarious liability. Furthermore, the franchisee's insurers must endorse or amend the policies to ensure they are primary and non-contributory, waive any right of subrogation concerning the additional insureds, and provide the additional insureds with 30 days' advance written notice of any cancellation or material change in coverage.
