What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bumble Roofing's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to maintain several types of insurance coverage with specific minimum amounts. These requirements are detailed in Item 8 and are also subject to periodic adjustments as outlined in the Operations Manual.
Specifically, a Bumble Roofing franchisee must secure and maintain general liability insurance with a minimum coverage of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 in the aggregate. Additionally, they need auto liability insurance with at least $1,000,000 for each accident, including hired and non-owned auto liability coverage of at least $1,000,000. An umbrella liability policy with a minimum of $1,000,000 (with a recommendation of $2,000,000) is also required.
Furthermore, franchisees must carry business personal property insurance of at least $10,000 per location. Workers' compensation insurance must provide at least $1,000,000 for bodily injury caused by accident and $1,000,000 for bodily injury by disease. Lastly, business interruption insurance for a minimum of 12 months, covering financial obligations to Bumble Roofing and all others, is mandatory. Franchisees are also responsible for procuring and maintaining any other insurance required by state or federal law, including unemployment insurance.
It is important for prospective franchisees to understand these insurance requirements, as they represent a significant ongoing expense. The franchisor reserves the right to adjust these requirements periodically, so franchisees must stay informed of any changes. Failing to maintain the required insurance coverage could result in a breach of the franchise agreement.
