If Bumble Roofing modifies or discontinues a Mark, what costs will they reimburse the franchisee?

Bumble_Roofing Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

You must modify or discontinue the use of a Mark if we modify or discontinue the Mark. If this happens, we will reimburse you for your tangible out of pocket cost of compliance (for example, changing letterhead and business cards). You must not directly or indirectly contest our rights to the Marks, or any other trademarks, trade names, service marks, logos, trade secrets or business techniques that are part of our business.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bumble Roofing's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if Bumble Roofing modifies or discontinues the use of a Mark, they will reimburse the franchisee for their tangible out-of-pocket cost of compliance. This specifically includes costs like changing letterhead and business cards.

This means that if Bumble Roofing decides to change its logo or branding, franchisees will be compensated for the direct costs of updating their printed materials to reflect the new branding. This is a fairly standard practice in franchising, as it protects franchisees from bearing the full financial burden of corporate rebranding initiatives.

However, the reimbursement is limited to tangible, out-of-pocket costs. It does not cover indirect costs such as lost business, the time spent implementing the changes, or the cost of updating online marketing materials. A prospective franchisee should clarify with Bumble Roofing what specific expenses would be covered under this provision and what documentation is required to claim reimbursement.
