What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bumble Roofing's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Illinois Addendum takes precedence over the standard Franchise Agreement in case of any conflicts. This means that if any terms or conditions in the Franchise Agreement are inconsistent with the Illinois Addendum, the terms of the Illinois Addendum will apply to Bumble Roofing franchises operating in Illinois.

This addendum addresses specific legal considerations for Illinois franchises. For example, Illinois law governs the agreements, and any provision designating jurisdiction or venue outside of Illinois is void, although arbitration outside of Illinois is permitted. Furthermore, any attempt to waive compliance with the Illinois Franchise Disclosure Act or any other Illinois law is also void. The Illinois Addendum also states that rights upon termination and non-renewal of a franchise agreement are set forth in sections 19 and 20 of the Illinois Franchise Disclosure Act.

For a prospective Bumble Roofing franchisee in Illinois, this means that the Illinois Addendum provides additional protections and clarifications under Illinois law. It ensures that certain provisions in the standard Franchise Agreement that might conflict with Illinois law are superseded by the Addendum, offering a more legally sound and franchisee-friendly agreement within the state. Franchisees should carefully review both the Franchise Agreement and the Illinois Addendum to understand their rights and obligations fully.
