What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bumble Roofing's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to include specific entities as additional insureds on their insurance policies. These entities are Bumble Roofing itself, its parent company Empower Brands, LLC, their affiliates, and any other parties that Bumble Roofing may designate.

This requirement means that the franchisee's insurance coverage must extend to protect these additional insureds against potential claims or liabilities arising from the franchisee's operations. The coverage for these additional insureds should not be limited to claims of vicarious liability, meaning they are protected even if the liability doesn't directly result from the franchisee's actions.

Furthermore, Bumble Roofing mandates that the franchisee's insurance policies must be primary and non-contributory, meaning they pay out first in the event of a claim, and the insurers waive any right of subrogation against the additional insureds. The insurance policies must also provide the additional insureds with 30 days' advance written notice of cancellation or any material change in coverage, ensuring they have ample time to secure alternative protection if needed. Franchisees must provide Bumble Roofing with proof of these insurance policies and endorsements within specified timeframes.
