What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Buildingstars's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must operate, advertise, and promote their business under the name "Buildingstars" without any prefixes or suffixes during the term of the agreement. The franchisee cannot adopt "Buildingstars" as part of its corporate name with any modifications, except for Buildingstars-licensed logos.

In addition, the franchisee is required to file an assumed or fictitious name filing where required by law and must always use the abbreviation "d/b/a" (doing business as) after the franchisee's legal name. This ensures that while the business operates under the Buildingstars brand, the franchisee's legal business entity is also properly identified.

These stipulations are typical in franchising, as they protect the brand's uniformity and recognition. By mandating the use of the "Buildingstars" name and regulating its presentation, Buildingstars ensures consistent branding across all franchise locations, which helps maintain customer trust and brand equity. The requirement to use "d/b/a" also provides legal clarity regarding the franchisee's business identity.
